Abul Hossain
I joined Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering Group as a Lecturer in September 2014. Prior to this, I worked in the department as a Reserach and Teaching Associate. Before starting my postgraduate study, I worked in the industry as a Mechanical Engineer for 6 years. In the industry, I worked on boiler, dual-fuelled engine generator, gas engine generator, cooling tower, process design and optimisation, and mechanical maintenance of heavy machineries.
Currently, I am working on waste derrived biofuels upgradation and blending, development of biofuels based poly-generation systems, waste heat recovery, and engine parameters modifications. I work with the researchers of the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston, on the development and use of second and third generation biofuels. My other research theme is production of 'Clean Water', solar PV powered brackish water (and sea water) desalination techniques combined with green house cooling system.
